False Information: Fake news on incident in Pa-O villages

Fake news are circulating on social media, alleging that Tatmadaw launched heavy weapon attacks to the villages, inhabited by Pa-O nationals in eastern area of BanYin in Hsiseng Township, Pa-O Self-Administered Zone in Shan State (South) on 8th February.

According to the claims, heavy weapons were fired 16 times, forcing local villagers to flee to safer places. Regarding this news, a relevant official and responsible locals reported that residents have fled their homes as PNLA, KNDF and PDF terrorist insurgents invaded BanYin Township, forcibly taking foodstuff from shops and abducting villagers.Tatmadaw and PNO Militia Group conducted security operations to combat the destructive acts of terrorists.

During operation, the terrorist insurgents attacked the villages by launching heavy weapons and drop bombs. These intentional attacks of terrorists led to the injuries and death of local residents. It is reported that the subversive media outlets are spreading false information on social media to mislead the public.
