Fake News: Disinformation on incidents in Bago Region and Mon State

The alleged report by Khit Thit Media claimed that security forces threatened to evacuate villagers from 17 villages in the Bago Mountain area in Oat Pho Township of Bago Region on January 18th, citing the issuance of a Section 144 Order.

In response, a security official refuted the accusation, asserting that no such order was issued in those villages during January. Additionally, Khit Thit Media reported fake news, claiming the death of three civilians due to the explosion of heavy weapons launched by the Tatmadaw in Tettu Kone Village of Belin Township on January 19th.

A local security officer has countered this, stating that there was no armed exchange in the area. The media outlets supporting terrorist acts are disseminating fake news on social media networks to harm the peace and stability of the community and to create misunderstanding about the security forces among the people.
