Fake News: Clarification on incidents in Madaya and Theinzayat Townships

The illegal subversive media outlets have been disseminating the false information, claiming that the security forces burnt down 20 residential houses in Udein, MwayTaeOak, MwayKatosate villages in Madaya Township of Mandalay Region on 9th May. 

Regarding the news, a security official refuted that there was a clash between the security forces and PDF terrorists near Udein village.

During this incident, the terrorists who invaded the MwayKatosate Village opened fire with homemade weapons, resulting into explosion in Udein Village and destruction. Due to the counter terrorism of the security forces, the terrorists retreated into failure from the village and 45 hand-made bombs and explosive equipment were seized.

Similarly, fake news is spreading on social media, alleging an innocent civilian lost live in ZeePyaung Village of TheinZaYat Township in Mon State due to the heavy weapon attack of Tatmadaw. According to the report of responsible security official, the news is totally fabricated.

Local residents felt insecure due to the terrorist attacks of non military targets while using schools and houses as bunkers. The information related to the terrorists can be reported secretly to the authorities and the propaganda is spreading to mislead the public with false information.
