Fair prices for taxi users: The city taxi fares were introduced on June 23rd

A new plan of reasonable city taxi fares were introduced on June 23rd and as the Yangon Region Transport Committee (YRTC)is striving to provide a good service system and safe and secure transportation to the passengers.

Joint-Secretary, YRTC, Lyan Cin Mang said "According to the new rate of taxi fare, as soon as you get into the car, you will have to be charged 1500 Kyats and 600 Kyats in every increase of 1 kilo meter till you reach where you go. Currently, before we do not set the taxi fares, the passengers have to pay the amount of the fare that the drivers charge. This program for the public is formulated by the collaboration of taxi associations and taxi drivers and owners to be fair and square for the passengers and the drivers. We set reasonable price for all types of Diesel, patro and gas. The taxi drivers should follow this rate. I requested all to follow this."
