Factory Inspection: MOI Union Minister visits Yeni Paper Mill

Union Minister for Industry Dr. Charlie Than and Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman U Than Tun Oo visited Yeni Paper Mill in Bago Region on Friday.

During the visit, they inspected the testing of straw pulp with a small laboratory pulp pot in order to produce pulp from straw. Officials reported on the conducted research activities to produce pulp from straw and steps involved in producing activities.

In response to the report, the Union minister said the research activities to produce pulp from straw must be carried out successfully in accordance to the guidance of SAC Chairman and to keep the records of research conditions.

He added that the technology must be distribute to the farmers and MSME entrepreneurs when the research is success and the designs of the equipment that will be used to produce pulp from straw must also be drawn up in advance.

The Union Minister also urged to conduct the advanced training and distribute techniques to the farmers and MSMEs entrepreneurs for the development of the local people. Then, the Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman urged to boost in research activities to improve the income of farmers, provide more job opportunities for the local people and gave necessary instructions.

After that, the Union Minister and Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman inspected the production steps of wrapping paper that can produce 20 tons per day, checking and repairing equipment activities to produce 80 tons of wrapping paper per day, producing activities of 2,400 tons of pulp per day, condition of the railway construction for the transportation of raw materials and finished goods.

He gave instructions to complete the repair work on the equipment as soon as possible in order to start the manufacturing activities for imports substitution.
