Explosion incident at high school in Jakarta

Jakarta Metro Police Chief Inspector General reported that 54 people were injured in the explosion at SMA Highschoolin North Jakarta, on Friday. The victims suffered varying degrees of injuries, with some already discharged from hospitals. Authorities have set up assistance posts for victims and families.

The joint team from the police, military, and bomb squad continued investigating the cause of the explosion, which occurred around 12:15 p.m. local time during Friday prayers. The National Police’s Densus 88 counter terrorism unit is examining whether the incident involved elements of terrorism, with further details to be provided by Jakarta Metro Police.
