A robotic company Robugtix based in Shatin, Hong Kong, made a video of patent-pending foldable spider robot named 'Z6' performing aerobic exercises on December 12. The funny video aimed to show the robot abilities to climb stairs, fold up into a compact size, and navigate in different directions, among others.
The company said the robot can be used in search and rescue applications during fires and in earthquake disaster zones to help locate victims and provide information to rescue teams. Z6 is capable of inspecting industrial and hazardous sites, such as oil rigs, nuclear power plants, as well as exploration of the surface of other planets.
