Exchange views: MoIP Union Minister received UNHCR regional director

The Union Minister for Immigration and Population U Myint Kyaing received the Director of the Regional Bureau for Asia and the Pacific, Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees-UNHCR Mr. Indrika Ratwatte at the meeting hall of the ministry, Nay Pyi Taw at 10 a.m. on 19th September.

At the meeting, the two parties cordially exchanged views on the implementation of MoU among the ministry, UNDP and UNHCR, although the ministry does not intend to object for the permission of the travelling and operating to provide humanitarian assistances in the Buthidaung and Maungtaw region under the MoU, the existence of some limits under the security condition, the implementation of bilateral coordination for the repatriation of displaced persons in Bangladesh, the scrutinizing, finding and replying by the ministry on the displaced persons’ information sent for the repatriation,  the implementation through the online coordination meetings of technical working groups from Myanmar and Bengladesh and plan to carry out Pilot Project, the sabotages of armed terrorist groups targeting the efforts of the two countries to be destroyed, the requirement of UNHCR's constructive supports of UNHCR for the returnees to live in convenient life and sustaining living, the UNHCR's help for the understanding of international community on the current efforts of Myanmar and the cooperation for the success of repatriation process, it's reported.
