Evidence Management: Central Committee holds meeting 1/2024

Central Committee for the Management of Evidence held the meeting 1/2024 with the Nay Pyi Taw and regional and State committees at the Ministry of Home Affairs in Nay Pyi Taw on Wednesday afternoon.

In this Meeting, Chairman of the Central Committee SAC Member Union Minister for Home Affairs Lt-Gen YarPaye said that in February of 2020, the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) added Myanmar to the list of countries and regions to monitor progress.

8 recommendations and 15 measures to be implemented were released, and the Immediate Outcome 8.2 includes establishing an evidence management system and allocating the necessary resources. To implement the Immediate Outcome 8.2, central Committee and relevant committees were established.

The committees have to make proper management and maintenance to ensure that the value the evidence confiscated by a crime does not decrease its value or is lost or damaged before filing a lawsuit, during the period when the lawsuit is pending and before the court makes management. And, attendees made sector-wise discussions on evidence management.
