Evacuees from Sudan arrive in France

French nationals and European citizens evacuated from Sudan arrived at Paris Charles de Gaulle airport on Wednesday morning. The evacuees, who were first taken to Djibouti before travelling to France, described the situation in Sudan as "chaotic" and “violent.”

A series of short cease-fires in Sudan the past week have either failed outright or brought only intermittent lulls in the fighting that has raged between forces loyal to the country's two top generals since April 15.The lulls have been enough for evacuations of hundreds of foreigners by air, land and sea.
