Evacuation Process: Villagers evacuated to safer place to avoid erosion

30 households in Kalayaung Village (Aung Min Chaung) Section were evacuated on Wednesday morning. Situated near the coast in Taunggup Township of Rakhine State, the area is prone to collapse due to heavy rain and high tidal waves.

Altogether 120 villagers were accommodated at the village monasteries and cyclone shelter. It is learned that 480 people from 125 families in 120 households are residing in the Aung Min Chaung Section of Kalayaung Village-tract.
