Over 1,000 people from 214 households in Kayin State have been evacuated due to inundation on Saturday. The surging of the Thanlwin River led to the flooding of some wards in low-lying areas of Pa-An, necessitating the evacuation of residents to safer places.

The District and Township Disaster Management Committee, along with the Fire Brigade, coordinated the evacuation efforts, relocating the affected people to temporary relief camps set up at the stadium, cyclone shelter, monastery, and pagoda compounds.

Furthermore, the State Government, Disaster Management Department, and Township Interfaith Association provided rice and provisions to the victims, while the Township Health Department rendered health care services to those affected by the floods.
