Officials and astronauts met in Cologne as the European Space Agency (ESA) outlines its Argonaut programme, a lunar-lander project designed to carry cargo and demonstrate that Europe can land safely on the Moon. A consortium led by Thales Alenia Space would build the lander, with ESA describing it as a key step in securing Europe's autonomous access to the Moon.
