EU says 'no alternative to diplomacy' ahead of Iran-US nuclear talks

The European Union said there is "no alternative to diplomacy" to resolve the standoff over Iran's nuclear programmed ahead of weekend talks between Tehran and the United States.

Anouar El Anouni, EU Foreign Policy Spokesperson said "There is no alternative to diplomacy, and we take note of the announced talks between the US and Iran. Any development increasing the chances of a diplomatic outcome goes into the right direction. And we, as EU, we would welcome it. We reiterate our commitment to a diplomatic solution, which is the only sustainable way of addressing Iran's nuclear program, as stressed by the high representative at the UN Security Council recently."

The talks are expected to focus on uranium enrichment levels, sanctions relief, and the timeline for mutual compliance—a diplomatic balancing act with high stakes.
