EU Parliament President Roberta Metsola visits Cyprus

Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides recently welcomed European Parliament President Roberta Metsola to Nicosia, underscoring the EU's steadfast support for Cyprus' reunification efforts. Their meeting at the Presidential Palace focused on advancing peace talks and reinforcing Cyprus' position within the European Union.  

President Christodoulides emphasized that Cyprus must remain a "functional, predictable member state" as it navigates the path towards resolving the decades-long conflict. He added that the European Union must continue to play a key role in supporting the island’s future, regardless of the outcome of the ongoing negotiations. 

This visit highlights the EU's ongoing support for Cyprus and its commitment to a peaceful and unified future for the island.
