EU Commission gives green light to tariffs on Chinese EVs

EU countries on Friday officially approved significant additional tariffs of up to around 35 percent on EVs made in China. "The EU and China continue to work hard to explore an alternative solution," the spokesperson for the European Commissionsaid.

Ten member states including France, Italy and Poland supported imposing the tariffs of up to 35.3 percent, coming on top of existing duties of 10 percent. This represents another step towards the conclusion of the Commission's anti-subsidy investigation.
