Ethnic Affairs: Work coordination meeting on cooperation for ethnic issues

The 4th work coordination meeting on cooperation for ethnic issues (1/2023) of the Union Minister for Ethnic Affairs and the Region/State Ethnic Affairs Ministers was held at the meeting hall of the Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw on Saturday.

In his opening speech, the Union Minister said that according to the Law Protecting Ethnic Rights, the Region/State Ethnic Affairs Ministers are granted authorities in order to tackle the ethnic issues promptly through collaboration with the Region/ State Chief Ministers.

He urged the Region/State Ethnic Affairs Ministers to make discussion with genuine Union Spirit by looking forward to the socio-economic development and interests of the ethnic people in accordance with the Five-Point Roadmap and four social objectives of the State Administration Council.

Next, the relevant Region/State Ethnic Affairs Ministers presented the ethnic issues which they are taking responsibility. Then, the Deputy Minister Dr Zaw Aye Maung elaborated on the ethnic issues, followed by a general round of discussion by the attendees. The meeting then concluded after the closing remark by the Union Minister.
