Ethnic Affairs: MOEA Union Minister tours in Yangon

Union Minister for Ethnic Affairs Jeng Phan NawTaung accompanied by Deputy Minister U Zaw Aye Maung and many other concerned officials made an inspection at Nation Races Village in Yangon on 9th November.

First, the Union Minister and party inspected renovation process of the Union Hall, Administrative buildings, concert hall, beatification tasks as well as water and electricity access and instructed for timely completion of the process.

Next, they inspected staff housings and stressed on cleanliness of the housing area. They then proceeded to ethnic traditional houses and inspected the renovation processes of the houses, instructed on systematic preservation and maintenance of the houses keeping original structures, long-term resilience of the houses, systematic supervision of the tender projects, completion of the projects within the time frame, meeting set standards.

In the afternoon, the Union Minister and party met with the service personnel of the National Races Village (Yangon). During the meeting, the Union Minister stressed to emphasize on meticulous maintenance and renovation of the village as a significant symbol of the nation, better service provisions to the visitors as well as capacity enhancement of the personnel.

Next, the Deputy Minister instructed on timely completion and strict supervision of tender projects, tasks to be implemented in 2025-2026 Financial Year and encouraged the service personnel to perform their duties complying with the existing civil service personnel laws and by-laws.

Then, the relevant officials made discussions on current work implementations using Yangon Region Government Fund and further task implementations. Upon reports, the Union Minister coordinated requirements.  In the evening, the Union Minister and party visited Yangon Region Director’s Office and met with the service personnel.

There, the Union Minister urged for systematic budget allocation, capacity enhancement of the personnel and called for the exerted efforts of the individuals in building the prosperous Union based on democracy and federalism. Then, the attendees presented reports on difficulties encountered and Union Minister and Deputy Minister fulfilled the needs.
