Ethnic Affairs: MOEA Union Minister meets Ethnic Associations

Union Minister for Ethnic Affairs JengPhangNawTaung met with the ethnic literature and culture associations within Kachin State in Myitkyina Township on 8th January.

Speaking on the occasion, the Union Minister stressed the importance of the official registration of associations in line with the existing rules and regulations, highlighting the efforts of the ministry on systematic registration process.

The Union Minister also called for the unity and concerted efforts of the ethnic people in building a union based on democracy and federalism. Next, the Kachin State Ethnic Affairs Minister clarified the regional development measures and the attendees made discussions on current work implementations.

The Union Minister supplemented the discusions and concluded the meeting. During the meeting, the Union Minister and the State Ethnic Affairs Minister presented cash awards to the ethnic literature and culture associations.
