Ethnic Affairs: MOEA UM meets ethnic literature and cultural troupes

Union Minister for Ethnic Affairs Khun Thant Zaw Htoo together with the deputy minister, state ethnic affairs minister and officials met with Ethnic literature and cultural troupes from Kayin and Mon States at the meeting hall of the Director’s office of the Ministry in Mon State on 19th March.

In his speech, the Union Minister said that the ministry is carrying out the tasks to preserve and promote the literature and culture of the ethnic people and the ethnic affairs. He added the Ministry’s efforts to promote the Union Spirit under the concept of “We are Myanmar”, and urged all attendees to make frank discussions regarding the ethnic affairs.

Representatives from the ethnic literature and cultural troupes made reports on the ethnic affairs which were coordinated by the deputy minister and concerned officials. Among the attendees included the representatives from Mon, Kayin, Pa-O, Shan and Bamar ethnic cultural troupes in Kayin and Mon States.
