Ethnic Affairs: MOEA holds coordination meeting in Nay Pyi Taw

A coordination meeting of the Ministry of Ethnic Affairs was held at the Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw on 5th August.

The meeting was attended by Union Minister Jeng Phang Naw Taung, Deputy Minister U Zaw Aye Maung, Permanent Secretary, departmental officials and officers from the State/Region Directorate offices.

Speaking on the occassion, the Union Minister said this coordination meeting aims to discuss the plans for the socio- economic of the developement of  ethnic people in the region/state. It is necessary to make amendments after reviewing the weak and strong points on the work undertakings of the respective department.

Then, the Deputy Minister said that officers need to have well understanding on the state constitution, the ethnic rights protection law/by law and other financial rules and regulations.

As the development of the socio-economic life of the ethnic people and unity and peace are vice versa, efforts have to be made on the tasks that could bring interest to the ethnic people.

Afterwards, the permanent secretary and directors general  made sector wise reports. The Deputy Minister discussed upon the reports by officials of the State/region directorate offices. The meeting ended after the concluding remarks by the Union Minister.
