Ethnic Affairs: Forum on Rights of Ethnic People

A forum on the Rights of Ethnic People in line with the 2008 Constitution was conducted at the head office of Fisheries Enterprise (Myeik District) from 23rd to 25th March.

At the forum, challenges, opportunities and priority of the development of the Ethnic people, Myanma Geo-politics, World Geo-politics, World Current Affairs, Union spirit, 2008 constitution, the rights of ethnic people, laws and by-laws were discussed and clarified by Deputy Minister for Ethnic Affairs Wunna Kyaw Htin U Zaw Aye Maung, State and Regional Ministers for Ethic Affairs, departmental officials, social organizations and invited guests.

And, the Deputy Minister and officials presented 600,000 kyats each to Kayin, Mon, Moken (Salon) and Tanintharyi Literature and Culture committees and donated 750,000 kyats to the Myeik Catholic Christian Church. Tanintharyi Regional Minister for Ethnic Affairs Saw Martin Lu Thar presented honorary gifts to Kachin State Minister for Ethnic Affairs U Kyaw Min Khaing and Kayin State Minister for Ethnic Affairs U San Ko.
