Ethiopia intelligence chief Temesgen named new deputy PM

Ethiopia's parliament on Thursday approved the appointment of intelligence service Chief TemesgenTiruneh as Deputy Prime Minister, replacing DemekeMekonnen, who had served in the role for 11 years.
Temesgen is the former Head of the Information Network Security Agency (INSA) and currently serves as a Security Advisor to the Prime Minister. He was tipped as the favorite for the Deputy Prime Minister Position after Demeke recently announced he was stepping down from the post he had held for more than a decade.
