Erdogan talking to first Turkish astronaut

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan had a videoconference with the first Turkish Astronaut Alper Gezeravcı, who will go to the International Space Station within the first space mission with human, the initial leg of the National Space Programme.

The four-person team will conduct more than 30 scientific researches during their 14-day stay, with Gezeravcı responsible for 13 researches. President Erdoğan noted that the mission is very valuable since it is both a science mission and an inspiration for the Turkish youth. Mr. Gezeravcı, for his part, thanked President Erdoğan for laying the groundwork for the future generation to open up the curtain that was limiting their dreams.
