Erdogan on Syria

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has emphasized Turkey’s commitment to diplomacy in dealing with the Syrian issue. Erdoğan also noted that Türkiye has maintained its principled stance since the beginning of the crisis.
In a move signaling stronger diplomatic ties, Erdogan revealed that Turkey’s foreign minister had visited Damascus just yesterday.

He also emphasized the Syrian revolution has focused the world’s attention on the country. Türkiye will provide all necessary support to the Syrian people to ‘make their achievements permanent’ after winning the war against the ‘oppressive Baath regime’.
