Erdogan reaffirms support for Syrian peace

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Wednesday underscored the critical importance of the January 30th agreement between the Syrian Government and the People's Defense Units (YPG), signaling a potential turning point for regional stability.

Speaking at the AK Party Group Meeting, Erdoğan declared that the “renewed hopes in Syria will not turn back into a dark winter,” emphasizing that Turkiye will remain a vigilant guarantor of this transition. He stated that Ankara will continue to closely monitor developments to ensure that peace efforts remain on track and that the territorial integrity of Syria is preserved.
