The Union Civil Service Board on Monday held a tree-planting ceremony in its compound in Nay Pyi Taw.

Chairman of the Union Civil Service Board U Aung Thaw and members of the Union Civil Service Board attended this 17th event. They planted 200 trees including shady ones at designated places and oversaw taking care of trees planted last year.

The ideal time to plant trees in Myanmar is during the wet season, particularly in June and July, when the soil is soft and moist, making it conducive to root development. Since 1977, Myanmar has designated July as the tree-planting month, promoting tree-planting initiatives with the participation of people from all walks of life.

The extensive tree-planting initiative is aimed at conserving the environment, safeguarding against soil erosion and protecting residents from natural disasters.
