Environmental Conservation: SAC Chairman participates in tree planting event

The Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army, Navy, Air) organized a monsoon tree planting ceremony near Yazin Dam in Nay Pyi Taw Zeyathiri Township on Friday.

This is the second time of the activity during 2024. Chairman of State Administration Council, Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, Deputy Chairman of State Administration Council, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, Commander-in Chief (Army) Vice Senior General Soe Win, Chief of Staff (Army, Navy, Air) General Maung  Maung Aye and wife, Commander-in-Chief (Air), Senior Military Officers from the Commander-in-Chief Office and their wives planted the saplings together with military officers, Tatmadawmen and families at various designated places.

The Senior General and wife and party later observed the collective planting of saplings by the participants. A total of 2,400 saplings of various hardwoods were planted during the event.

The Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army, Navy, Air) has been organizing the tree planting ceremony since 2011, aiming to preserve natural environment and eco-system in the surrounding area of Yazin Dam.

More than 198,000 saplings including hardwoods, perrenial trees, shady and windbreak trees have been planted as of July 2024.
