Environmental Conservation: Ministry of Home Affairs plants 32,639 trees on June 12

Ministry of Home Affairs on Wednesday held the 2024 Monsoon Tree Planting Ceremony in the compound of the Administrative Education Development Training School in Zabuthiri Township.

Member of the State Administration Council Union Minister Lt-Gen YarPyae joined this activity together with many officials and staff. In his speech, the Union Minister said that the State Administration Council is taking natural resource conservation activities seriously as a national responsibility.

To sustain the forest resources, to improve the forest cover nationwide and to preserve the ecological system and encourage people to actively participate in forest conservation activities, tree planting ceremonies are being held across the country.

The theme set for World Environment Day 2024 is “Land Restoration, Desertification and Drought Resilience”. In order for all plants to survive, they need to be cared from after being planted, the Union Minister added. And, he and other officials and staff planted a large number of trees. It’s reported that Ministry of Home Affairs planted a total of 32,639 trees on June 12.
