Environmental Conservation: 4th collective tree-planting event in Myitkyina

Forest Department of Kachin State held the 4th collective tree-planting event in the year of 2024 at the Lisu Cultural Land in Pummati Ward of Myintkyina on Saturday – this is to get the public participation in forest conservation and for green environment as well as to tackle climate change.

At the event, Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan called for efforts to prevent deforestation as 70.49 percentage of land in Kachin State is covered with forest and to take care of the planted trees. And, the Chief Minister distributed saplings to officials from the Lisu Literature and Culture Group and planted  over 808 saplings together with many other officials.
