Ensuring Food Sufficiency: Meeting for development of fishery industry

A work coordination meeting was held on 3rd August for promoting livestock sector in order to boost production of nutritious foods and to ensure sustainable development of marine industry.

Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation called for harmonious cooperation among the departments and private sector for sufficient supply of marine products locally and increased earning of foreign currency through boosting exports.

He urged all to abide by the regulations stipulated for the inshore and offshore fishery businesses, ensuring to preserve natural environment while striving for development Good Aquaculture Practices.

The meeting discussed the plans for ensuring local food sufficiency and boosting production. The Deputy Minister later inspected the progress of constructing the Mixed Use Development Project and Research Center as well as the work processes at the Fishery Cold Storage Factory.
