Enhancing Healthcare Access: Extension of Specialist Out-Patient Departments

The Ministry of Health is implementing measures to improve life expectancy and overall health outcomes, aligning with one of the Social Objectives of the State Administrative Council.

As part of these efforts, the Specialist Out-Patient Departments (OPDs) have been expanded since August 2023, now offering 100-bed facilities and above at the People’s Hospital. Moreover, the Specialist observation timings have been extended to the afternoon, previously only available in the morning.

The public is encouraged to seek medical treatment at these Specialist OPDs with Referral Letters obtained from Regional Clinics, Township People’s Hospitals, as well as private hospitals and clinics. Timetables for Specialist observation have been posted on Notice Boards at the respective hospitals and are also accessible on the website of the Treatment Department: www.doms.gov.mm.
