






A workshop on Energy Security and The Role of Liquefied Natural Gas-LNG was held at the office of Ministry of Energy and it was attended by Union Minister for Energy U Ko Ko Lwin.
At the workshop, the Union Minister made an opening speech saying that the Ministry has been preparing the short term and long-term plans to meet the requirements of energy for the country. Myanmar is currently using energy from natural gas, hydro power, coal, solar and Bio fuel, and it is necessary to consider the alternative ways to meet the demand for natural gas which is the main sources of electricity production.
The Union Minister also stressed that the demand of natural gas in Myanmar will be rising rapidly in future and the LNG will play a crucial role to meet the natural gas demand in a short period of time.
He urged officials to prepare and establish the necessary rules and infrastructure plans for the future. Next, the experts and attendees discussed and pointed out the necessary facts to be considered. The Union Minister gave instructions and awarded the certificate of honor to the attendees.
