Energy Sector: Union Minister attends workshop to increase production

Union Ministerfor EnergyU Ko Ko Lwin on Thursday attended a workshop on technology to increase production in mature oil fields and development conditions at oil fields across the country at the Ministry.

At this workshop, the Union Minister said that the Ministry of Energy is managing the country's energy sufficiency and energy security, drilling deep wells in mature oil fields and extracting oil and natural gas is a part. In the history of oil production, it has been found that production was not successful until reaching the promising hydrocarbon-bearing sands located deep underground.

The Union Minister also urged concerned officials to make the 2 new wells successful which will be implemented during the fiscal year of 2024-2025. And, experts from the MPRL E&P Company and the Myanma Oil and Gas Enterprise shared experiences and presented difficulties to be encountered. This workshop also discussed current oil production and research achievements to improve the production and plans, the Union Minister coordinated the discussions.
