Energy Sector: Receiving the Ambassador of China to Myanmar

Union Minister for Energy U Ko Ko Lwin met with Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar Ms. Ma Jia at the Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw on 3rd January.

During the Meeting, they exchanged views on investment opportunities in energy sector between two countries and cooperation for establishment of LNG Terminal to meet the increasing demand for natural gas in both Myanmar and China. The two sides discussed to conduct feasibility study for utilizing full capacity of Myanmar-China Pipe Line for Crude Oil and Natural Gas.

The meeting also focused on joint establishment of a new Oil Refinery, constructing and upgrading of new oil and natural gas projects and pipelines and making investments in upgrading and construction of Oil Refinery and Chemical Fertilizer Plants, as well as cooperation between the two governments.
