Energy Sector: MOE Union Minister meets with Russian officials

Union Minister for Energy U Ko Ko Lwin met with Mr. Pavel Sorokin who is the First Deputy Minister of Energy of Russia and Mr. Alesksander Boldyrev, an official from the International Relations Department of Zarubezhneft which is the Russian-owned Oil and Gas Company at Radisson Collection Hotel on 5th March.

During their meeting, they made discussions on the investment matters for the construction of LNG Terminal near Dawei Deep Sea Port for domestic use and export, construction of natural gas pipelines connecting the LNG Terminal, construction of oil refinery in Dawei Special Economic Zone, and cooperation for Myanmar’s fuel requirements at friendly price, using advanced technology in extracting oil and natural gas and conducting the feasibility study for the Russian Companies to invest in the potentials offshore areas.
