Energy Sector: MoE held discussion with Russian counterpart

Myanmar delegation led by the Union Minister for Energy currently in Moscow, Russian Federation to attend the 6th Russian Energy Week International Forum met with Minister for Energy of Russian Federation Mr. Nikolay SHULGINOV and discussed the matters on the Energy.
Also attended at the meeting were Deputy Minister for Energy Mr. Sergey MOCHALNIKOV and the heads of State-owned Energy organizations such as INTER RAO Export, Zarubezhneft and JSC RosGeo.
At the meeting, Minister for Energy of Russian Federation Mr. Nikolay SHULGINOV expressed his warmly welcome to Myanmar delegation for attending 6th Russian Energy Week International Forum and said the necessary data has been sent to be able to discuss regarding with Electric Power sector, the discussion with Myanmar Union Minister for Energy regarding with Energy sector, if Myanmar is willing to cooperate with INTER RGO Export Company in Energy sector, the Ministry of Energy of Russian Federation will provide the assistance.
It's ready to cooperate with Myanmar in the petroleum chemical enterprises. That was also discussed in the Energy forum held last year. The coordination will be made for the bilateral cooperation between Myanmar and Russia in the Energy sector. It’s ready to provide assistance in the Geology, Geo-physics activities and the drawing Digital Geological Map for Myanmar. The further discussion will be conducted for the cooperation to increase production of petroleum, natural gas and coal.
The Union Minister discussed meeting with Roscongress Investment (RCI) and ROSGEO have been made during this trip. It’s believed to help for actual cooperation in the practical field based on the meetings and discussions. In the present global trend, Energy is playing the vital role and Energy security is paramount important for the socio-economic development of the people.
The country is implementing to ensure Energy security for the long term economic development. In the effort, it’s hoped to acquire the necessary investment and technical assistance by collaborating with the partnership countries. While the Energy security is being fulfilled, it’s needed to contain for the mitigation of impact on the environment.
In the implementation of Green Technology Development, it can be found out that the world countries are implementing by balancing country’s economic might, development of technological resources and Energy requirement. In our country, it’s encouraging to increase the Electric Vehicle utilization and making necessary arrangements to utilize renewable Energy such as solar Energy and wind Power Energy.
It’s expected to collaborate with Russia in nurturing human resources which are important for the Energy development. The subjects of Petroleum Geology, Geophysics, Gas Chemistry, Petrochemical, Petroleum Engineering are wanted Myanmar to teach with the form of projects Based.
