Energy Sector: Inspection to natural gas fields in Ayeyawady Region

Union Minister for Energy U Ko Ko Lwin together with the Ayeyawaddy Region Chief Minister U Tin Maung Win visited Maubin (South) Oil and Natural Gas briefing hall and heard report on production capacity enhancement and inland arrangements to increase the natural gas production in lower Myanmar regions.

Speaking on the occasion, the Union Minister stressed that the national demand on natural gas will be increased. As the natural gas is essential in Energy Transition as Intermediary stage, it’s necessary to accelerate the excavation of new natural gas projects, he stated.

Then, the Chief Minister stated the pivotal role of natural gas in operation and production of the industries and workshops within Ayeyawaddy Region. The region government will provide necessary assistance in acceleration of natural gas production, he added.

Then, the Union Minister, the Chief Minister and party oversaw the natural gas production process at Maubin Well No.15 and arrangements undertaking to excavate well No.26 and presented honorary cash awards to the staff. In the afternoon, the Union Minister and party visited No.2 and 3 Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) Industry (NyaungTone) and heard reports on LPG production and operations of the industries.

Upon reports, the Union Minister said that the reoperation of the oil refineries will benefit LPG production and urged to conduct necessary trainings on refinery maintenance and related technics.  Then, the Union Minister met with the staff and the family members and coordinated requirements.
