Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr. Win Myat Aye attended the international conference on Ending Sexual Violence in Humanitarian Crises.
In the conference in Oslo of Norway on Friday, the Union Minister stressed the government’s efforts including policies, laws, frameworks and schemes to end sexual and gender-based violence and also implementation of the National Strategic Plan for Advancement of Women (2013-2022) and the Joint Communique with the Special Representative for Sexual Violence in Conflict.
The government is also working on Gender-responsive budgeting and budget allocation in social sectors has been amounted to three times if compared with the allocation in 2016 for the benefits of children and women. The Norwegian Government hosted the conference which was attended by officials from over 100 countries.
