Encouraging Free Medical Treatment : MGY Region CM encouraged free medical treatment

Magway Region Chief Minister U Tin Ko Ko, accompanied by officials, visited Yenangyaung Township Tuesday morning to observe and encourage the free medical treatment being provided to local residents by a team of specialist doctors from Magway Region People’s Hospital, as well as teaching and learning activities at basic education schools.

He also attended the ceremony to install a commemorative plaque designating the main building of Yenangyaung University as a historic building and the “YNCU Campus Vibes 2026” event. At Yenangyaung Township People’s Hospital, the Chief Minister and officials cordially met and encouraged local residents who came to receive free medical treatment provided by the team of specialist doctors from the Magway Region People’s Hospital. They inspected the free medical services being provided by the specialist doctors and donated and distributed lunch boxes and bottles of purified drinking water to the patients.

Next, the Chief Minister and officials visited Twingone Ward Basic Education High School and No. (1) Basic Education High School. They observed and encouraged teachers and students engaging in theoretical and practical teaching and learning activities in the classrooms. The Chief Minister presented 1 million kyats each as cash of honor to the respective headmasters and inspected the tissue-culture banana plantation established within the school compound as part of a nutrition development program.

Afterward, the Chief Minister and officials attended the ceremony to install a commemorative plaque designating the main building of Yenangyaung University as a historic building. The Chief Minister formally opened the ceremony by cutting the ribbon, sprinkled scented water, and delivered remarks. Next, the Chief Minister and officials attended the “YNCU Campus Vibes 2026” event for the 2025–2026 and 2026–2027 academic years at Yenangyaung University.

The Chief Minister delivered remarks and presented medals and cash prizes to the winners of the futsal competition representing the Ministry of Education, the inter-university futsal competition, the high-jump competition, various majors’ sports competitions, and the Mr. Physique and Ms. Physique competitions. Honorary cash awards were also presented to the groups that gave entertainment performances, it’s reported.
