Emerging outstanding athletes: 2023 State and Region Futsal Tournament kicks off

2023 State and Region Futsal Tournament kicked off at the WunnaTheikdhi Stadium in Nay Pyi Taw on Monday.

Members of the State Administration Council Daw Dwe Bu, Poe Rel Aung Thein, Dr. HmuHtan, U Maung Ko, Dr Aung Kyaw Min, Dr Kyaw Tun, Khun San Lwin, U ShweKyein, U Yan Kyaw, Union Ministers, Deputy Ministers, departmental officials, supervisors and coaches from participating teams, athletes, staff families of the Ministries and enthusiasts attended the event.

At the event, Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs U Min Thein Zan said that he believes the tournament can train and produce new generation athletes and called for officials and participating athletes to strive for revealing the essence of the competition.

Later, the participating athletes from regions and states took sport oath. The SAC members and the Union Ministers then cordially greeted athletes from the competitive teams and enjoyed competing of Mandalay region and Kachin State teams as the men’s event.

The State and Region Futsal Tournament intends to strengthen unity among futsal players from regions and states, to flourish union spirit, to develop futsal sports in regions and state, to become more interested in futsal sports by youths and to uplift Myanmar futsal sport standard.

The 2023 State and Region Futsal Tournament will be held from 24th to 31st July and a total of 350 athletes of 15 men’s teams and 11 women’s teams from regions and states are participating in the tournament and every enthusiast can enjoy the event with free of charge.
