Emergency services rescued a man climbing the railings of London's Tower Bridge on Monday. Tower Bridge has been closed at around 10.20am both ways between East Smithfield by Tower Hill and Queen Elizabeth Street as emergency services worked to bring him down.

At 12.32pm, the City of London Police says he has been brought away safely from the railings and that the bridge will reopen shortly. The man "came down safely two hours later and was taken to hospital" to be assessed, according to City of London Police.
