




Due to heavy rain in Nay Pyi Taw, two houses were eroded, resulting in the drifting of a 40-year-old mother and her 8-year-old daughter in Pazun Hseik Village-tract of Pobbathiri Township on Saturday.
The emergency response team, local Tatmadawmen, members of the Myanmar Police Force and Fire Brigade, as well as the village Administrator and villagers, are currently carrying out rescue measures. Chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Council, U Than Tun Oo, along with council members and departmental officials, also visited the affected area and provided comfort to the locals impacted by the disaster, offering cash assistance, rice, and relief items.
Later, the Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman and party proceeded to Sin Thay Diversion Weir in Tatkone Township, where they inspected the inflow of water and instructed maintenance works.
The Diversion Weir typically maintains a depth of 20 ft with a safe water flow of 68,129 cubic feet per second. Currently, it has approximately 2,500 cubic feet per second, posing no immediate threat of risk.
