Emergency preventive measures: Measures taking for saltwater shrimp hatchery camp

According to the announcement of the cyclonic storm warnings by the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology, the relevant departments are conducting emergency preventive measures and operations to response the risk of cyclone at the 7 designated red alert areas in Rakhine State; Sittwe, Kyaukphyu, Maungdaw, Rathaetaung, Myaybon, Pauktaw and MannAung townships where the very severe cyclonic storm Mocha is forecast to hit.

Also, the saltwater shrimp hatchery camp in Kyaukphyu is undertaking the emergency preventive measures to avoid the damages and losses.

Preventive measures such as storing business equipments and materials owned by department and camp at safe place in advance not to enter rainwater in addition to prevent from strong wind and wave and giving timely information about cyclonic storm to all camp staffs to get alert on natural disaster are being undertaken to mitigate the risk of cyclone to the camp.

At the Kyaukphyu saltwater shrimp hatchery camp, more than 1million shrimp hatcheries have been reared and preparations are being made to mitigate the impact of storm as much as possible.
