





Union Minister for Electric Power U Nyan Tun inspected the 30-MW Thabyaywa-3 and 30-MW Tharzisolar power plants projects sites in Tharzi Township.
There, he heard reports on the status of the urban work, solar Panel installation with tracking system and construction of power lines to transmit power to main substations. In his response, the Union Minister said that the use of tracking system and ESS battery storage in solar power plants help a lot to produce the full amount of power and instructed the concerned officials to use that system in the upcoming solar power projects.
It’s reported that the 30-MW Thabyaywa-3 solar power plant has been transmitting Power since the 30th of March 2024 and the 30-MW Tharzisolar power plant since the 30th of April 2024. The Union Minister continued his inspection trip to the 500 KV KanKaung Power sub-station project site, stressed the importance of this project for electrification in the country and gave necessary instructions.
And, the Union Minister inspected completion of transformers, Shunt Reactor and Hybrid Gas Insulated Switchgear (HGIS) installation and construction of 500 kV Switch Bay, 230 kV Switch Bay and control building. It’s learnt that this 500 KV Kankung Power Sub-station Project is the first of its kind in Myanmar.
Upon completion, the electricity produced by the power plants located in the northern part of the country will be able to fully transmit power to the southern part of the country. Now, the project has been 79 percent completed.
