Electricity Supply: Meeting with officials and inspection at Hydropower Plant

Union Minister for Electric Power U Thaung Han discussed the condition of power distribution in Shan State (East) on 20th April. Officials reported on power distribution, arrangements for reducing power losses and wastages and future plans.

The Union Minister stressed the need to generate electricity in a manageable scale by establishing the small scale hydro power plants in order to meet the demand. Arrangements are being made to generate coal powered electricity and distribution of more power via national grid.

He urged all to make cooperative efforts for successful implementation of the tasks. The Union Minister later visited NamtWote(1) Hydropower Plant and inspected the generating of electricity. He also instructed for long term maintenance of the facility.
