Electric Vehicles: Operating & Infrastructures Implementation

Deputy Minister for Construction U Win Pe attends 1st work coordination meeting of the Electric Vehicles Operating and Basic Infrastructures Implementation Work Committee in Nay Pyi Taw on Tuesday.

At the meeting, Chairman of the Work Committee, Deputy Minister for Construction U Win Pe said that in order to reduce the consumption of biofuels along with the rise of air and water pollution, the global warming and environmental deterioration, electric vehicles have been produced and used in many parts of the world. For the development of infrastructures, it needs to implement in cooperation with relevant departments, associations and partner organizations to achieve the goal. Charging station, car parking and shopping center must be built on the highways.

In doing so, the work committee will also take into consideration on the safety measures for drivers and passengers. The Work Committee Vice Chairmen from the relevant Ministries discussed the process of 5-work programs.

Members of the work committees discussed plan on electric and urban basic infrastructures that are necessary for operating electric vehicles in drafting future urban projects and officials discussed sector-wise implementations.
