Electric Power sector: MoEP Union Minister took the inspection tour

The Union Minister for Electric Power U Thaung Han accompanied by responsible officials inspected the status of power generation in Shwe Taung Electric Power Plant in Shwe Taung Township, Bago Region and power distribution of 230 KV Ahlon Main Substation in Ahlon Township, Yangon Region in the morning on 29th April.

First, the Union Minister arrived at power plant generating 70 Megawatts using Shwe natural gas constructed by MCM Power Co., Ltd in the compound of Shwe Taung Electric Power Plant and inspected the operation of power generators, power generation, maintenance of generators and the responsible persons from the company explained.

Next, the Union Minister inspected power control room and power transmission to the national grid.

At the meeting hall of the Shwe Taung Electric Power Plant, the in-charge of the power plant and official concerned clarified the data of the power plant and the status of power transmission from Shwe Taung substation.  

The Union Minister cordially met with the staff members, fulfilled the needs of the staff, gave necessary instructions and provided foodstuff and cash assistance for the personnel.

Afterward, the Union Minister and party arrived at Switchyard of 230 KV Ahlon Main substation under the department of power transmission and system control in Ahlon Township, Yangon Region and the responsible officials explained the data of the substation, status of power distribution and conditions for the extended construction of Switchyard.

In responding to the clarifications, the Union Minister instructed to add the Fire Wall, Oil Pit and Fire Fighting System in the construction of extended substation and exchanging of long term used and full of loading transformers and inspected the status of power distribution balancing the loads of the power cables and transformers and the status of constructing extended Switchyard.
