In Yangon South District, there are 1,774 polling stations for 2020 General Elections and arrangements are being undertaken to conduct electoral trainings to the staffs who will perform as the polling station heads and deputy heads in the district after 21st October, member of Yangon Region Election Sub-Commission U Kyaw Moe Kyi said.
In-charge (South District), Yangon Region Election Sub-Commission (Member), Kyaw Moe Kyi said “We met with the Chairmen of District Election Sub-commissions and the district and township Election Officers to open the electoral training. Plans have been drawn to conduct the trainings after 21st October.We have already arranged the numbers of teachers to be appointed as the polling station heads and deputy heads for the respective townships through the coordination with the relevant education officers.”
The training will be conducted in lines with the health guidelines to keep social distancing, U Kyaw Moe Kyi added.
In-charge (South District), Yangon Region Election Sub-Commission (Member), Kyaw Moe Kyi said “For the prevention of COVID-19, we will conduct the trainings in line with the health guidelines. Each training is not more than 30 participants to keep social distancing. We will give trainings by dividing into groups.”
There are ten townships including Cocokyun Township in Yangon South District. It has 1,744 polling stations and over 1.1 eligible voters for 2020 General Elections.
