Electoral Meeting: UEC Chairman meets Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar

Union Election Commission Chairman U Thein Soe received a delegation led by Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar Mr. Chen Hai at the UEC office in Nay Pyi Taw on Tuesday. On the occasion, the Chinese Ambassador asked about preparatory measures of UEC for holding the election in line with the 5-Point Road Map of the SAC and the conditions on the political parties and to be held a free and fair election peacefully.

The UEC Chairman also discussed preparations for holding the election, enacting political party registration law and bylaw, applying for establishment of political parties and registration, plan to practice PR system, arrangements for holding free and fair elections that are accepted by political parties that will participate in the election and voters and arrangements for eligible voters to be able to cast votes in accordance with the law.

They also frankly discussed political party affairs and holding the election. The meeting was attended by members of the UEC and officials from Commission office.
